Shreveport, Louisiana–February 5, 2017– Slattery Johnson Jr. was recently reappointed as Chair of the Shreveport Historic Preservation Commission for a three-year term effective March 28, 2017.

Johnson assures protections now are in place to preserve historic structures thanks to the historic preservation ordinance and the historic preservation commission. As the chair member of the commission, Johnson will run the commission’s monthly meeting and ensure that the commission is fulfilling its goals as set forth in the historic preservation ordinance.

“Preserving Shreveport’s historic building stock is important because it anchors our unique identity at a time when cities and towns across the country are looking more and more homogenous,” Johnson said.

A top priority for the historic preservation commission is conducting a survey of local historic landmarks and ensuring those landmarks are protected. The commission also is working to finalize a set of design review guidelines for the Highland Historic District.

Mr. Johnson’s practice includes all areas of civil litigation, commercial bankruptcy, and personal injury law.
