Jerry Edwards’ practice involves litigation in diverse areas, with an emphasis in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, personal injury defense and municipal law.

Mr. Edwards graduated from Georgia State University with a B.A. in political science. While at Georgia State, he served as President of the Student Government and Vice-Chair of the Student Advisory Council to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. He received his J.D. from Vermont Law School, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and President of the Student Bar Association.

Before joining Blanchard Walker, Mr. Edwards was a law clerk for First Judicial District Court judges Scott J. Crichton (now on the Louisiana Supreme Court) and Jeanette G. Garrett (now on the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal).

Mr. Edwards is a member of the Judicial Campaign Oversight Committee for the Louisiana Supreme Court. He is also Chairman of the Northwest Community Partnership Panel for the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He was a member of the Louisiana Judiciary Commission from 2011-2015, serving as Chair in 2014-2015.

Mr. Edwards is a board member of the Community Foundation of North Louisiana and is Vice-Chair of the Board of the Volunteers of America of North Louisiana.

Mr. Edwards has presented for the Louisiana Judicial College, the Judicial Conference of the Fifth Circuit, the National Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Shreveport Bar Association on topics ranging from Judicial Discipline, Ethics, Professionalism and Torts.

Mr. Adkins’ practice at Blanchard Walker focuses on energy and commercial litigation. His litigation practice includes a broad array of commercial and business disputes, as well as cases involving oilfield contamination; mineral landowner and lessee disputes; mineral regulatory issues; and, other aspects of oilfield litigation. 

He earned his undergraduate degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana (summa cum laude; Phi Kappa Phi) and his law degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review.
