Ms. Douthitt’s practice involves employment law as well as commercial law, where she represents and advises clients in commercial real estate and lending transactions, corporate matters, and various other legal issues arising in the course of doing business in Louisiana. She also has experience with local government work, particularly in public financing transactions from the Town Attorney perspective, and with oil and gas and lignite title examinations.

She is a proud LSU tiger and her education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana — including a law degree, M.B.A., and an undergraduate degree in accounting with a concentration in internal auditing— lends particularly well to her business-focused practice. She joined Blanchard Walker in 2008 and was admitted to practice the same year.

Ms. Douthitt is a licensed title insurance producer as is an agent of First American Title Company of Louisiana. She is a member of the American, Louisiana State, and Shreveport Bar Associations as well as the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen, the Louisiana Land Title Association and the Louisiana Association of Independent Land Title Agents.

She serves on the boards of Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and the Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana, and is an active member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier. Ms. Douthitt and her husband Jeff are the proud parents of sons Cook and Whit.

Mr. Adkins’ practice at Blanchard Walker focuses on energy and commercial litigation. His litigation practice includes a broad array of commercial and business disputes, as well as cases involving oilfield contamination; mineral landowner and lessee disputes; mineral regulatory issues; and, other aspects of oilfield litigation. 

He earned his undergraduate degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana (summa cum laude; Phi Kappa Phi) and his law degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. 

Mr. Adkins was admitted to practice in 1984 and joined Blanchard Walker in 1988.  He has practiced in numerous state courts throughout the State of Louisiana and in all Louisiana federal district courts, and has appeared before both the Louisiana Supreme Court and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the American, Louisiana and Shreveport Bar Associations and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, as well as the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association.  Mr. Adkins also serves on the Louisiana State Law Institute Mineral Law-Legacy Disputes Committee.
